Ms. Hopkins focuses her practice on technology areas including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, small molecules, biologics, biosimilars, drug design, nanotechnology, tissue engineering, nutriceuticals, chemistry, cosmeceuticals, biomaterials, food science, microfluidics, diagnostics, immunology, polymers and medical devices.
Ms. Hopkins' experience as a research associate at Yale University Medical Center, George Washington University Medical Center and Genex Corporation, as well as her in-house counsel experience, uniquely positions her to take a business-minded approach to the practice of intellectual property law. Ms. Hopkins manages and leverages IP capital to maximize value and competitive advantage. She counsels a wide range of clients from start-ups and emerging growth companies to multi-national corporations, including pharmaceutical companies, health care providers, universities, software companies, government contractors and high-tech companies on a wide variety of IP issues. Ms. Hopkins' experience includes Inter Partes Review, conducting due diligence investigations, developing patent strategies and managing complex global portfolios, procuring domestic and foreign patents, monitoring competitive activity, drafting and negotiating agreements, preparing legal analysis, analyzing resource allocation, in- and out-licensing and developing IP strategies on behalf of her clients.
Ms. Hopkins has performed numerous due diligence investigations, e.g., freedom-to-operate, landscape, infringement, patentability, and validity analysis on behalf of clients seeking to in-license or acquire technology, market products, enter into collaborative agreements, attract financing or acquire companies.
